Giraffe Group Terms & Conditions
(Covering Giraffe Cars, JD Forktrucks,and Giraffe ATV)
1. General Terms
All pricing is correct at the time of publishing and is subject to change without notice.
All prices within JD Forktrucks and Giraffe ATV are commercial and subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate.
Titles to goods do not transfer until full payment has been received and cleared.
2. Orders and Payments
New and Factory Orders require a minimum 30% deposit to secure pricing and confirm your order.
The balance for any order must be paid in full prior to arranging delivery or collection of vehicles, trucks, or equipment.
For rentals, hire, and leasing arrangements, final approval is subject to the terms and conditions of our third-party leasing partners. Off-rental charges and damage charges will apply as quoted.
Trade-to-trade sales manufacturer warranties cover parts only unless otherwise specified at the time of sale.
3. Delivery and Collection
Deliveries will be made to the address agreed at the time of order. Delivery quotes may be subject to additional fuel surcharges.
For vehicles purchased via distance selling, delivery will only be made to your verified home address, subject to driver’s license verification.
If you are unable to accept a scheduled delivery or collection, you may incur additional costs, which will be advised beforehand.
4. Cooling-Off Period
7 Day Money Back Guarantee (Giraffe Cars) - Only applicable in Northern Ireland for vehicles sold via distance sale, provided the vehicle has not travelled more than 50 miles since collection and is in the same condition as it was on handover. Fees and charges may be applicable.
For Giraffe ATV, JD Forktrucks, and material handling equipment, there is no money-back guarantee. Instead, a 7-day exchange policy is offered, allowing the product to be exchanged for another item of similar value if the originally purchased product is deemed unsuitable.
5. Distance Selling Terms (Applicable Only to Giraffe Cars)
Customers who have their car delivered are entitled to a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of delivery.
Written notification is required within the 7-day period if you wish to cancel.
Vehicles must be returned within 7 days of cancellation acknowledgment at the customer’s cost.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of vehicle return, subject to vehicle inspection.
A maximum additional mileage of 100 miles is allowed; excess mileage will be charged at £1.00 per mile.
You are liable for the vehicle until returned and accepted by our team.
Any damage found will result in a deduction from your final refund.
6. Warranty Terms
180 days warranty is applicable to vehicles up to 5 years old. 90 days for vehicles over 5 years old.
Only applies to Northern Ireland.
New Vehicles and Equipment come with a minimum manufacturer’s warranty (1 year or 2000 hours for trucks and equipment, whichever comes first), covering parts and labour. (Travel time is excluded.)
Pre-Owned Vehicles and Equipment include a minimum of 90 days mechanical warranty, extendable upon purchase of a maintenance package.
Warranties are subject to manufacturer-recommended servicing being carried out.
Warranty claims may be declined if equipment or vehicles have been misused, subjected to excessive use, or maintained improperly.
Trade sales are typically subject to limited warranty as specified at the time of sale.
7. Rental and Maintenance Agreements (JD Forktrucks and Giraffe ATV)
Maintenance Agreements include service inspections, filters, oils, greases, travel, and labour.
Excluded from Maintenance Agreements and Warranties: Battery maintenance, tyres, consumables, contaminated fuel, DPF misuse (for diesel engines), Thorough Examination Certificates, fuel supply, and battery topping up.
Call-out and labour charges will be quoted at the time of enquiry and are subject to variation based on location and timing.
Cross-hiring, subleasing, or loaning of rental equipment or vehicles is strictly prohibited.
8. Returns, Damage, and Liability
Upon delivery, customers must inspect vehicles and equipment for any damages before signing acceptance.
Liability for goods passes to the customer once delivery is accepted.
Damage not noted at delivery will be chargeable to the customer.
Any refund or cancellation under the cooling-off period (vehicles) or dispute over delivered goods (equipment) will be handled as per the conditions specified at the time of sale.
9. Legal and Statutory Rights
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
